A Few Views from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

     HELLO again, ladies and gentlemen.

Hope, all is well, and it would like you all to enjoy the photo-graphic series below.  The shots were taken in 2012 while on assignment in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

To spark the imagination, I have also provided and excerpt from my novel:

Renaciamento” – The Life and Times of Jauanityo Jesus Ordaz

"For the young men of Puerto Vallarta, working in as a vendor in the stalls was a matter of honour: a rite of passage.  Almost all of the sellers were local Mexicanos, who spoke Spanish as well as English – a vital asset in attracting tourists and customers. Most of all, these young men were characterized by their distinct way of speaking that was full of slang and a variety of easily contrived phrases, which mirrored their easy-going lifestyle, and the pride and passion with which they worked alongside their fellow countrymen."

Hello 2016

Greetings, again.....it is I El Donato!

     HULLO. . . HULLO!!

I hope that everyone is keeping well, and that despite the rather bone-chilling climate we have been having - as of late, here in Canada - you are all still snapping those wonderful winter scenes!

Winter truly is a marvelous time for capturing some excellent photo-graphic images; sometimes those snow-dipped branches and those glistening, glassy, iced-over, stream-beds are just marvelous.

I am just making this post to wish all of my followers a happy and healthy 2016, and most important, a prosperous anum of picture taking.

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, taking me over, by storm, I have not had much time to think about taking photos.  So, in an effort to break that trend, I am making this post to say to all of you: there is never a bad time to take photo-graphics; and even come the winter months, picture taking can still be fun and exciting!

Please have a look at the series below.  I have decided to delight you all with a few rare gems from my collections!

Experimenting With Settings!

Settings and Options

Arbor
Many Cameras have a wide variety of settings and options.  However, almost all, of these options are "locked!"
A Long View

That is why, choosing a camera that is right for you, is such an important component to enjoying photographic images.

If you are going the route of a Point and Shoot, don't just get one with simply a high mp resolution.  Think cautiously about zoom, and lenses, and options.

That is why when I bought my camera - although it is inexpensive today - I grabbed it because in addition to a Higher Rate of Mp - at the time 20.1, was top of the line - it had a strong Nikor (very trusted) Lens with a 7x zoom - quite decent!

Lady Siena
Nevertheless, what pushed this purchase over the line - making my Nikon, right for me, was that the camera also offered "Cool Pics."  Software on board of the camera that can create drastic effects after photos are taken, as well as a high serious of "shooting modes."

Full Auto

I have experimented with using the "Portrait" setting vs. the "Full Auto" setting on some statuary in a home garden  You be the judge and let me know what you think.

For the most part, I was quite please with the digital (on computer) photographics.

Enjoying the Sun . . . . Enjoying the Moment - A Great BBQ!!

Greetings and salutations, fellow photographers!

In my last few posts, I spoke about having fun with your camera, regardless of how much you purchased it for, whether or not it is a Digi-Cam, a Camcorder or a DSLR Camera.

Thus, I have decided to practice what I preach!  Taking advantage of the wonderful weather we have been having, as of late, I decided to bring out my trust Nikon 20.1 MP Point and Shoot to “photo-document” an out-door BBQ that I had the pleasure of orchestrating.

Experimenting with the “food” setting on my camera, as well as the “full auto” setting, I was quite amazed at the quality of photographics I was able to produce.  At first, looking at the images on the small screen of my camera, I believed the photos to be grainy, and unclear; however, whence I loaded the photographics on to my computer I was blown away by the quality, rich colour saturation, and richness achieved!

Overall, it mad the process of creating and eating (especially eating) my BBQ that much more special!

Remember, taking photos should be fun and exciting, not boring and dull!

Please have a look at some of the photographics below!

Have a wonderful day, and happy picturing!!

Sincerely,

El Donato!

Quote of the Day

El Donato
Niagara Falls, Canada

"Night fell.  The town was kinder looking.  Small lights burned on the pier, and windows shone in the harbor offices.  The palms, so spindly and ragged during the day, had feathery heads, and these dark umbrella plumes sheltered the cozy buildings.  Some blood-red sunset streaks were still bent across the mountains to the west.  The town was tucked beneath.  It lay flattened, a pool of tiny lamps in the darkness, and some dim spangles glimmered from the lighted huts of the mountainsides.”

A Detailed Description

In my last few posts, I spoke about, and exhibited pictures from, Bahia Guayabitos.

Dana Fragomeni
Rincon de Guayabitos
I am sure many of you are quite familiar with, or have at least heard of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  However, for some, I am quite sure that Guayabitos is a name, quite possibly, never heard before. For the most part, that is quite appropriate, because, the tiny town of Rincon de Guayabitos, is relatively small; a local jewel; a gem of land, with a small population and known only by a few local Mexicans.

For a more poetic description of Rincon de Guayabitos, and all of its splendor, please take a look at the quote below, lifted from my upcoming novel, slated for publication in 2016:  Renaciamento” – The Life and Times of Jauanityo Jesus Ordaz

“And it was this town they called Guayabitos.

"And, it truly was a sight - a marvel to behold:- a town; a place; a thing, of (belonging to,) beauty; of wonder: a place, wherein courted gardens, grew luscious flowers, with all of the pinks, blues, magentas, and cadmiums of this world, which interlaced a beautiful, transposed, distilled (but not dis-infected) essence, and atmosphere of ‘tranquility armed with all of its greatest graces and glories.’”
